CEO Weekly Message

As we continue to investigate potential sites in our quest to expand our CMCA RV Park network, we welcome the assistance of members in identifying a possible site. Suitable sites would need to be approximately 5000 sq/m, a flat site, close to shops, access to power, water and sewerage, and situated in a town or area that will benefit and appreciate the travelling RV consumer. If you know of an area that maybe suitable, please send us an email at enquiries@cmca.au or give the office a call on 02 4978 8788.

The Chairman and I will be attending the NSW Local Government Annual Conference from Sunday targeting specific areas that have already been identified to strengthen any opportunity councils may have to develop RV tourism. The frustrating part of any CMCA RV Park development is the time it takes from identifying a site to opening a site, which on some occasions has taken over 24 months. We are also looking at taking over the management of caravan parks for those who wish to partner with us. This is done under a cost sharing arrangement where council still maintains the park, however CMCA looks after the management and operations. This is currently working very successfully in Boyup Brook, Western Australia. We have a strong goal to grow this network, however any assistance from members would be appreciated.

Safe travelling
Richard
